Abstract: Despite the growth of e-banking adoption in Ethiopia, banks continue to conduct most of their banking transaction using traditional method. The general objective of this study was to assess e-banking practices in Nib International Bank from the angle of general driving force, level of infrastructure, network, acceptance by society etc. We used both primary and secondary data collection methods to collect data from customer service and IT management of the Bank. The collected data was analyzed using descriptive research methods such as tabulation of percentage. Among the different opportunities that initiate banks to adopt e-banking services: Improving customer services, Facilitating the work to be done fast, helping to facilitate work with minimum error, Simplifying the activity of employees of the bank in the delivery of services to customers, Enhancing the image of the bank, improving efficiency, reducing paper work, reducing queues in the hall, Increasing Revenues of the bank, reduction of cost, and improving relationship with customers. It also investigated the major challenges for the electronic banking services in commercial bank of Ethiopia as of infrastructural, legal and regulatory, socio-cultural, and illiteracy related challenges. Abstract: This research is aimed to assessing employees’ motivation on job satisfaction and employees’ performance by the case organization, St. Raguel Church Primary and Secondary School. Motivational factors including monetary incentives and other benefits, recognition, career and progression work content and working condition are assessed in order to find motivation effect on employees’ performance. The study was conducted based on the data gathered from St. Raguel Church School. Descriptive design with mixed research approach were employed to answer the research questions that emerged through the review of existing literature and the experiences of the researcher in respect to effect of motivation on job satisfaction and employee performance. The study analyzed data obtained from the survey questionnaire. The result of the study indicated that job satisfaction is highly leads for better employees’ performance in other words; job satisfaction is a significant and strong mediator between motivation and employee performance. In the case organization employees were not highly satisfied and motivated with the current procedure carried out by the institution. It revealed that they are mostly not satisfied with the salary, benefit, and recognition and job security practice of the institution. The study suggested different measures include: implementing clear and appropriate career advancement procedures, providing proper and timely recognition as part of the system, the basis of motivational procedures taken by the organization should follow the interest of employees; shaping and implementing appropriate motivational techniques in order to satisfy its employees and to get high employee performance in order to achieve organizational objectives.2022-09-01T00:00:00ZAn Assessment of Competitive Market Strategy on Performance: The Case of Lion Insurance S.C.

Title: An Assessment of Competitive Market Strategy on Performance: The Case of Lion Insurance S.C.

Abstract: Competitive strategies are designed to enhance organization competitiveness. A competitive strategy comprises of business approaches to retain and gain more customers by satisfying their needs and expectations. The choice of a competitive strategy has a strong bearing on the performance and development of an insurance firm. This paper, as stated in the problem discussion, from its preliminary assessment spotted that Lion Insurance Company’s special focus was on challenges facing insurance companies in building competitive advantage. Thus, the objective of the research is to assess the competitive strategies adopted by Lion Insurance Company. The study used primary data collected by conducting interview and distributing questionnaires to the employees, and secondary data from annual report, relevant books and the internet. This study employed descriptive research design and the sample size of the population was calculated using Yamane’s Formula. The research findings were analyzed and the findings revealed that insurance companies invested very little in branch network expansion which created challenges, especially with regards to reaching out the rural market. Finally, it is recommended that any organization within this industry should develop strategic plans that aim at reaching more customers and creating new markets through establishing more branch networks, partnerships and geographical expansion into other regions.2022-09-01T00:00:00Z
