This study is conducted to assess consumers’ attitude and perception towards domestic origin drugs. The study used simple random and quota sampling technique to select 5 community pharmacies and 197 consumers. The study used a descriptive research method to analyze the data collected through questioner and interview from sample respondents. The findings of the research portray that majority of the consumers have no affordability problem regarding to domestic drugs but hold attitudes of locally produced drugs are designed only for poor and were not comfortable to use domestically produced drugs due to their perception of compromised quality, lack of effectiveness, and more side effect for domestic drugs. In addition, significant numbers of respondents relate prices increase with effectiveness of the drug. Generally, consumers have negative attitude regarding to the effectiveness, price and quality of domestically produced drugs. So effort should be done by the owners of all domestic drug producing companies to build their brand in minds of consumers.en_US
