dc.description.abstract | The purpose of this thesis is to assess the designed, implemented and practiced internal control
system of government organization on the success of their construction projects. For the purpose
of this research internal control and project success are defined in the context defining the key
words of the research. To achieve the objectives of this study, data were collected through
questionnaire from 99 respondents. The respondents were selected using purposeful sampling
method, Further to collect evidenced information 14 management member of the selected
organization was engaged for an interview. The data collected from the questionnaire were
analyzed. And the information collected through an interview was used as an additional data to
strengthen the conclusion. The results of this thesis have shown that internal control of an
organization has direct relation and effect on the success or failure of government construction
project. Internal control has the power to control time, cost and quality of construction projects.
Hence government organization should work to strengthen the internal control system of their
organization and projects to make effective, efficient and economical and to achieve their ultimate
