dc.description.abstractWhat drives employees to perform Organizational citizenship Behavior may be affected in part by the type of the Organizational Culture orientation. A standardized Organizational Culture Assessment tool (OCAI) of Computing Value Frame work was used in this study to identify the dominate current culture and the preferred culture of ActionAid Ethiopia. To measure the Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB) a standardized tool with 20 items was used. For data analysis descriptive and inferential statistical method like person correlation and regression were used. This research specifically investigated the current and preferred cultural orientation at ActionAid Ethiopia using the computing value mode and also investigated the impact of the dominant culture to tendency to performing altruism, civic virtue, conscientious/compliance, courtesy and sportsmanship dimensions of organizational citizenship behavior. The result showed that the current and preferred cultural orientation is Collaborate, which is an internally focused and flexible culture. While the impact of organizational culture on organizational citizenship behavior showing that Compete, external focused and controlled culture orientation positively related to all dimensions of OCB, Control organizational cultural orientation was negatively related to all five dimensions of OCB, Create organizational culture was positively related Civic Virtue, Conscientious and Sportsmanship, negatively related to altruism and not related at all to Courtesy dimensions of OCB and Collaborate Organizational culture orientation positively related to Courtesy, negatively related to Conscientiousness and Sportsmanship and not related to altruism and Civic Virtue dimensions of OCB. This research provided an insight in to AAE staff perception of their organizational culture the current and preferred and also indicated their tendency to perform Organizational Citizenship Behavior. The findings suggest that if OCB has an impact on the success of ActionAid Ethiopia, the organization should change the current and future organizational culture to the Compete Culture which has an external focus and controlled.en_US
