Abstract: The purpose of the study is to assess employee retention strategies at Equatorial Business group (EBG). Basic questions such as relationship between employees performance and employee retention strategy, the main employee retention strategies at EBG, key motivating factors contributed for employees stay, the company’s employee retention rate, challenges faced in employee retention and if there is inequality in treating employees, were asked. The study employed quantitative and qualitative research design methods. Random and purposive sampling techniques were used to select the sample size of 154 from among 477 study population. Questionnaire and interview were used for data collection. Descriptive statistics such as percentage, and cross tabulation were used for data analysis. It was concluded that that the organization has improved its retention rate in the past four years even though employee are not satisfied with some of the retention factors. This dissatisfaction may force employees to leave the organization. It was recommended for the company to revise its HR Policy manual in a way that can meet employee’s expectation.
