The purpose of this study was exploring government employed women's decision making problems in the offices in which they were working in Nekemte town. These problems had been a common phenomenon in government institutions in Nekemte town and they demanded conclusive evidence to be known enough so that the concerned individuals take proper corrective measures. The study was then made with the objective of drawing the attention of the government and the policy makers towards the problems so that firm policy documents would be adopted and enacted to that end. The study addressed the current state of government employed women's decision making problems in Nekemte town by using questionnaires, interviews and focal group discussions and came to the real extent of government employed women's decision making problems in the town. The result of the study then indicated that government employed women in Nekemte town almost did not make decisions in their institutions in spite of the policies, binding national and international conventions, resolutions and declarations for the equal participation of women in decision making as one part of women's an inalienable human rights. It was then strongly recommended that the government, the policy makers and all responsible individuals do their best for the improvement of government employed women's decision making in Nekemte town.en_US
