Abstract: The purpose of this study was to assess the Adwa Zero Km Museum construction project's project risk management practices using the five project risk management processes identified through literature review: risk management planning, risk identification, analysis, response planning, and monitoring and controlling. The study employed a descriptive type and used a quantitative analysis. A survey was conducted using 50 semi-structured, closed-ended questions, and an interview was conducted with the project manager. Participants who were involved in completing the question were selected using purposive sampling. Descriptive statistics were used to summarize the quantitative data compiled by SPSS 25. The data were summarized using tables and percentages. Using the above-listed methods, the researcher found out that project risk management was not given enough attention in the Adwa Zero Km mega construction project, where there are many uncertainties. The project surveyed was generally recording poor performance in most crucial parts of the risk management process. However, risk was planned ahead of time, and cause and effect were assessed in a systematic manner. The study also reported that even though there was no training to develop employees' knowledge regarding risk, a responsible person or department was not assigned to handle it. The risk identification process in the project was one of the better-performed activities that was identified at the initial stage of the project. No enough attention is given to risk getting to channel the risk analysis, response, and monitoring and controlling concurrently with the project plan and objective. The study recommended that the project team members receive consistent training in project management knowledge areas, especially risk management, and their application. Continuous improvement based on lessons learned needs to be encouraged. In addition to improving risk management oversight and project risk management processes, ensuring the establishment of effective risk management standards, and involving key stakeholders during the planning and necessary phases, collecting and compiling project data for future reference.
