dc.description.abstractMonitoring and Evaluation is an important aspect of projects. The purpose of this research is to access the monitoring and evaluation practice, the strength and weakness, effectiveness and challenges at john snow incorporated in Ethiopia. The research design was descriptive and quantitative approach was used in the study. It also used primary and secondary data sources. Primary data was collected through a structured questionnaire that is collected from 35 employees who were involved in the monitoring and evaluation practice in the organization. SPSS was used to analyze the data. The findings of the study showed that, majority of the respondents agree that there is comprehensive, contributing to accountability and transparency, and well resourced in terms of budget, staff, and technology. There is also positive feedback concerning its commitment to ethical standards, stakeholder involvement, and top management support. There is overall agreement that there is effectiveness of M&E practices in identifying strengths and weaknesses, addressing potential risks and challenges, and contributing to organizational learning and knowledge sharing. While the strengths are evident, challenges and areas of improvement have also been identified. There are mixed perceptions regarding the timeliness and accuracy of information provided by M&E activities, and varying views on the effectiveness of measuring the long-term impact of programs. To conclude, there is a need to strengthen communication, to implement targeted efforts for long-term impact measurement and continuous stakeholder engagement.en_US
