dc.description.abstract | The purpose of the study was to examine the effect of emotional intelligence on team
performance at kirkos sub city administration office in Addis Ababa as case study. Four research
objectives that sought to understand how emotional intelligence affects a team's performance
served as the study's guidelines. To achieve the objective of this study the researcher used a
quantitative research approach. Questionnaire was distributed for 175 employees and returned
162 of the questionnaire were filled correctly. And also researcher uses explanatory research
design for conducting these research. The date was analyzed by using SPSS version 26 software
was adapted to analyze the data. The study randomly selected seven offices, by using the four
dimensions of emotional intelligence: self-awareness, self-management, social awareness and
relationship management were used. Therefore, the finding of the study regression analysis
concluded that, the mean of self-awareness, relationship management, social awareness and
self-management had statistically significant effect on team performance at kirkos sub city
administration office Addis Ababa. Finally, the study forwarded the recommendation that kirkos
sub city administration office should focus more on the enhancement of emotional intelligence in
the work place. The managers should try to measure the problems encountered by the employees
and provide them training in order to overcome the fear of unknown and for the success of
organizational performance through different contributions emotionally intelligent employees’
