Abstract: | Human Resource (HR.) is the most important asset for any organization, and it is the source of
achieving competitive advantage. Without having adequate human resource, the organization
will be unable to achieve established goals and objectives. The main aim of this study is
attempted to assess the Human Resource Management practices of the awash insurance share
company (AIC). Using cross-sectional study design 66 participants would be recruited as a
sample size using systematic-sampling method. The findings show that there are gaps in HRM
practices regardless of HR. manager’s high level of education in their respective job fields. On
this ground, it has been concluded that AIC managers and supervisors need additional HR
related skills and knowledge to carryout HRM functions and therefore, an organized effort from
the organization and other concerned bodies is of paramount importance to address this lack of
HR. management capacity. Based on the findings of this study, recruitment, performance
appraisal, training and development, and compensation were the main variables that attract,
motivate and retain employees in organizations. Therefore, AIC should work toward improving
the HRM practices to achieve the goal of the organization. |
