Abstract: | The purpose of the study was to identify the challenges and opportunities of Islamic banking in
Ethiopia, with a focus on ZamZam Bank S.C. The study used mainly a quantitative research
approach and data was collected from both primary and secondary sources. Primary data was
collected through questionnaires and secondary data was collected from various sources.
Convenience sampling was also used. A total of 55 responses from five branches of ZamZam
bank employees and customers. A descriptive research design applied. Data is analyzed using
statistical tools SPSS 2020 and presented as a descriptive analysis result. The result indicates
serious challenges that need attention and hard work and capitalize on various opportunities.
The research concluded that the potential opportunities identified and forward recommendations
to reduce the expected challenge and sustainability of Islamic banking in Ethiopia. |
