Abstract: This study investigates the application of Kaizen principles within the manufacturing sector of the MIDROC Investment Group, specifically targeting Horizon Addis Tyre Manufacturing and Pharmacure Pharmaceutical Manufacturing. It employs a mixed-methods approach, integrating quantitative data from structured questionnaires and qualitative insights from interviews and focus groups, to assess the factors influencing Kaizen implementation, such as leadership commitment and employee involvement. The findings indicate moderate Kaizen adoption, with significant correlations between implementation and performance metrics, while also highlighting challenges like resistance to change, ultimately suggesting that effective leadership, robust evaluation systems, and employee engagement are critical for enhancing manufacturing competitiveness in Ethiopia.
